Title: A Blossom Fell, Part 1
Author: Cicero
Fandom: Enterprise
Pairing: Archer/Reed, Archer/f
Rating: PG-13
Summary: "I must confess that your knowledge is a relief."
Email Address: Cicerothewriter@livejournal.com
Categories: Drama, Angst
Feedback notes: Like it? Don't like it? Spelling or Grammar errors? Please let me know.
Warnings: Slash. Infidelity.
Notes: Written in less than 15 minutes (and that's fifteen minutes of study time I'll never get back *g*). Re-read for errors once. This is a very brief response to "Home," which I have not yet seen, but I know what happens, and "Affliction." The World of Nat King Cole started playing "A Blossom Fell," and I was inspired.
Disclaimer: I do not own Enterprise. I am writing this for fun, not profit.

I must confess that your knowledge is a relief. Yes, I destroyed the evidence. I misconstrued what I saw and heard. I lied. I was not the first.

I had been amazed to hear the rumors of your tryst with the Captain of the Columbia - though now I don't know why. I didn't believe them, not until she called your room and I answered. To her I was just another lieutenant. What was I to you, Jonathan?

I could have gotten out of working for the Section. It was within my power. I didn't. I wanted you to find out. I want you to hate me. You are my captain, Captain Jonathan Archer. I can't hate you. I can't look down upon you. I'd rather our breakup be my fault than yours.

And now it is.
