Feedback notes: Any kind of feedback will be appreciated, even if you just write me a one-line email telling me that you've read the story, and I will be happy.
Warnings: Character death (mild); Depressing. Grammar and punctuation mangling.
Notes: I had just finished watching "Another Mother" and "What Price, Gloria?", both favorite episodes of mine. The end of WPG always gets me thinking about the relationship between Gloria and Samantha and how they may mirror Sam and Al. It inspired me to write this drabble. I'm not quite happy with it, but it's more than I've written in a long time, and I'm happy with that.
Disclaimer: I don't Quantum Leap. I am writing this for fun, not profit.
After the leap for Gloria, Sam often wondered why Samantha had never married. She had seemed so alive, so gorgeous. Smart and cunning: both were very dangerous traits in any person. When Sam returned home, he asked Ziggy to secretly check on Samantha and Gloria. Gloria was happily married, just like Al had told him. Samantha was dying; Sam went to visit her.
When Dr. Samuel Becket died at the age of 84, people often wondered why he had never married. Sam had learned from Samantha that there was only one person for either of them: a special best friend.
